After a long and successful career, I have decided to seek the privilege of serving you and the legal community as a judge in the 19th Judicial District Court.
I have spent my entire career in courtrooms learning how to try cases and how not to try them. I started my legal career as a law clerk to Doug Moreau and then Mike Ponder. I was appointed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Baton Rouge I served as the lead prosecutor for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and was appointed as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana to assist with the prosecution of drug dealers, outlaw motorcycle gangs and political corruption cases.
After serving for 5 years as a prosecutor, I joined Kean Miller LLP where I have been a partner for 31 years. During that time, I have litigated almost every type of case that potentially could come before me as a judge- automobile accidents, slip and fall cases, chemical exposure, class actions, product liability, police and municipal liability, anti trust, business disputes and criminal cases in both federal and state courts in many parts of Louisiana. I have also had the honor of serving as General Counsel for the Louisiana Municipal Association.
I would appreciate your considering supporting my candidacy. I pledge that if elected, you will leave my courtroom- win or lose- knowing that your judge knew and applied the law, was fair and impartial and treated everyone with the professionalism and respect they deserve.
