Former U.S. Senate candidate Nick Albares has endorsed Jamie Davis ahead of Saturday’s runoff election, giving Davis another public show of support from a former primary rival as the campaign enters its final stretch.
In a video posted to Instagram, Albares reminded voters that Election Day for the runoff is Saturday, June 27, and said he is backing Davis in the race.
“I’m supporting Jamie Davis in that runoff,” Albares said.
Albares described Davis as “a farmer, a community leader” and someone who shares key values with him. He also praised Davis’ campaign, pointing to the grassroots effort Davis has built across the state.
“I’ve been impressed with his grassroots campaign and the bridges he’s built all across the state of Louisiana,” Albares said.

The endorsement comes as Davis continues to consolidate support following the primary. Since advancing to the runoff, Davis has also earned endorsements from the AFL-CIO and Forum for Equality, two groups Albares specifically cited in his announcement.
Albares said Davis would continue to push for affordability and health care while opposing discrimination “of any kind.”
“Jamie’s campaign has been focused on building community through relationships, which was also central to my campaign and will remain a focus in my future public service,” Albares said.
The endorsement gives Davis another opportunity to appeal to voters who supported other candidates in the primary, particularly voters drawn to campaigns focused on coalition-building, working families, health care access and opposition to discrimination.
Davis faces Gary Crockett in Saturday’s runoff.
