About Our Founder
Quentin Anthony Anderson | Founder & Editor
The Bayou Progressive was founded by Quentin Anthony Anderson, a Baton Rouge native, communications professional, and longtime participant in Louisiana politics.
Anderson's background spans political campaigns, public policy, nonprofit communications, community organizing, and media production. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Louisiana Tech University and a Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
Over the course of his career, Anderson has worked with organizations focused on civil rights, civic engagement, and public policy, while also participating directly in electoral politics as a candidate for local, state, and federal office.
That experience informs The Bayou Progressive's emphasis on political context, institutional knowledge, and a deeper understanding of how political decisions are made.
Anderson founded the outlet out of a belief that Louisiana needs more political journalism that recognizes the diversity of its electorate, takes underrepresented political perspectives seriously, and treats readers as capable of understanding the complexities of government and public policy.
The Bayou Progressive reflects that vision: a grassroots, independent media platform committed to informing Louisiana residents through reporting, interviews, analysis, and accessible multimedia journalism.
